The tiers differ in their monthly AI writing allowance. Editing, cover tools and PDF, EPUB, Markdown and HTML exports are included across all four. Word/PDF/text imports are included. Team seats, transcription and automatic publishing are outside this first release.
Folio uses 1 credit for an outline, 2 for a chapter draft and 1 for a chapter rewrite. A six-chapter first draft would use 13 credits under that system. Writing is limited to 20 requests per account per UTC day. Review and edit AI drafts before publishing.
Each allowance resets on a paid monthly renewal and unused credits do not roll over. Monthly refills require a verified successful payment.
Cancel future renewals in Account & billing. Your paid monthly allowance lasts through the paid period. You can keep editing existing books and download preview exports afterward; previously downloaded files stay yours.
Downloaded files remain on your device. Review the content, source permissions and formatting before sharing or submitting to a publishing platform.
